Laura also serves as the board secretary for Reclaiming the Reins, a nonprofit organization that provides equine therapy to veterans and first responders, with a primary focus on Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
Outside of work, Laura enjoys spending time with her husband and their dog Fred. She has also enjoyed experiences coaching high school girls’ soccer, as well as Girls on the Run.
Laura is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist with over 9 years of experience working with children in school, home and community settings. Laura obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Temple University, and her Master of Arts in school psychology from Millersville University. In addition to her work with ACTS, Laura currently works in a Pennsylvania public school district as a school psychologist, conducting psycho-educational evaluations and providing support to staff and students. Her primary goal is to treat each child as an individual, and utilize research-based strategies to guide her practice.
Before becoming a School Psychologist, Laura spent time doing research through Temple University, working with students whose primary language was not English in a study to determine the impact of parent involvement on education for underprivileged and ESL students. Laura also worked as a Therapeutic Staff Support (TSS), Mobile Therapist, and Behavior Specialist Consultant. Laura has worked with students attending brick-and-mortar schools, as well as cyber schools, ranging from preschool to 21 years of age.
